TS-60

The TS-60 test chamber is made of two independently controlled chambers. One chamber is hot and the other one is cold. The temperature shock between hot and cold is created with the rapid transfer of the specimens on the lift and the subsequent exposure to a wide range of temperatures.

 
 

Application

Environmental conditions have a considerable effect on the function and the reliability of electronic components, devices and systems. The main purpose of temperature shock tests is to determine, if sudden temperature changes have an influence on the specimen’s long term function. In addition, early failures due to part and workmanship defects can be provoked without reaching the mechanical and thermal stress limits of the construction. This test process, the ESS stimulation (ESS = Environmental Stress Screening), is applied to discover such defects in early production stages. The life expectancy of the test specimens can be forecast after a test carried out with a few hundred, or even a few thousand, temperature cycles.

The reliability and functionality of electronic components, devices, and systems is heavily influenced by environmental conditions. In order to determine whether sudden temperature change may have an impact on the specimen’s long-term functionality. These types of tests help to identify part and workmanship defects in construction without reaching the thermal and mechanical stress limits. Through using ESS (Environmental Stress Screening) such defects can be recognized early on in the production stages. An accurate prediction of the products life expectancy can be made after a few hundred, or few a thousand, temperature cycle tests have been completed.
