Noxious Gas Test

To prove the resistance of the technical products to corrosive gases, Weiss Technik developed the corrosion test chambers cabinets series BSB. The BSB enables an exact dosage of the corrosive gases with a climate conditioned air volume. The main constituents of the corrosive, atmospheric trace elements are: sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxide (NOx), hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and chlorine gas (CL2). The basic unit consists of a test system of series Klima 3000 with 340, 600 and 1000 liters.  
Under precise test conditions emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) from materials and products can be determined. This is an excellent value for the money as its development was controlled and directed by the user (WKI) and therefore meets standard VOC measurements. Scientific measures and product testing are aimed at limiting organic emissions indoors for improved consumer protection.

The system operates similar to the FAPE/+60, but is equipped with two test vessels, which can be used independently from each other. The interface displays the testing conditions of both vessels (one indication for each test vessel).
UV light in sunlight and diffuse sky radiation is especially important. It can cause alterations in the surface of materials, which – accelerated by other climate factors, such as temperature and humidity – lead to the typical symptoms of aging. Staggered simulations of natural weathering in devices requires a restriction of the number of climate values or their cyclic alterations. The Global-UV test unit simulates the most important climate factors which are relevant for aging. In other test procedures, too much attention is paid to the simulation of the entire global radiation and the simulation of other important climate factors is neglected. However, it is also important that temperature conditioning and humidification are controlled in a reproducible manner and that the air is humidified without aerosols. Moreover, any uncontrolled overheating on account of the radiant heat of the lamps has to be prevented. Test procedures according to DIN EN ISO 4892-2 prescribe e. g. the simulation of the overall range of global radiation, the disadvantage of which is that the influencing factors of specimen temperature and humidity or their cyclic alterations can only be controlled very vaguely. In test procedures with fluorescent lamps according to DIN EN ISO 4892-3 only the simulation of the photochemically effective spectral range ≤400 nm (UV-A and UV-B radiation) is prescribed. This means we dispense with radiation heating of the specimens but gain the possibility of climate conditioning the specimens in the entire natural temperature and humidity range in a precise and reproducible manner. Within the UV-Global test unit, radiation is effected with special fluorescent lamps in the wavelength range from 290 nm to 450 nm.

The RL SHED chamber was built to determine the emission of fuel vapors during driving. This system consists of a driver instructor unit with a ceiling mounted monitor, a dynamometer, emission analyzer, volume compensation with Tedlar foil, movable ceiling, software, and an airtight door.

Dynamometer Test:

The Climate-Alternating-Corrosion Test Chamber type SC 1000/15-60 IU meets the requirements of standard DIN 50 021/DIN EN ISO 9227 and allows the performance of corrosion alternating tests according to VDA Test 621-415 B with freezing ("VDA New").
In addition to the salt spray test chambers of the SC/KWT series, Weiss Technik also offers walk-in salt spray test chambers that allow for the testing of the corrosion behavior of large components.
The SC/UKWT 1000 is a performance salt fog and condensed water test chamber. The chamber has a climate extension that allows for cycles with controlled humidity and drying/ventilation as well as combination alternating tests with cycles.
The SolarClimatic Series instruments are state-of-the-art test units for simulating temperature and climatic indoor and outdoor conditions with global irradiation. Influencing parameters such as global irradiation, temperature, and humidity they can be individually programmed in user configurable programs. The test chamber design of the units offers an economic alternative to large solar simulation equipment such as Walk In or Drive In Chambers.
The Weiss Technik VT Mini Shed Chambers are used for fuel tank permeation tests or for HC emission tests in fuel carrying vehicle components. The equipment consists of a volume compensation device, explosion-proof test-space, an analyzer, lighting, a window, a refueling port and purging and safety equipment.
The VT Shed chambers are for determining evaporation on motor vehicles in accordance with EPA, CARB and EU cregulations. One main feature of this test system is volume compensation with the use of a tedlar bag or moveable ceiling enabling temperature profiles to be performed with a hermetically sealed chamber without a differential pressure to enable ambient values. In addition to exhaust emissions caused by traffic, hydrocarbon vapors are also emitted when refuelling tank systems and by the vehicle itself.
