Originally established in 1979 (as Envirotronics, Inc.) for the purpose of servicing environmental test chambers, Weiss Technik North America has become an industry leader in the design, manufacture, and modification of environmental test chambers for temperature, humidity, vibration, altitude, thermal shock, portable shock chambers, burn-in chambers, custom equipment, fluid chillers, air burn-in systems, SAE dust chambers, combustion air units, automotive test systems, drive-in chambers, conditioned rooms, and forced air ovens. 

In February 2019, Weiss Technik North America acquired Cincinnati Sub-Zero. CSZ, based in Cincinnati, OH, is a leading provider of environmental test chambers. In September 2023, Dynavac, an innovative leader in high-performance vacuum systems for space simulation and thin film deposition based in Hingham, MA, was also acquired. With Weiss Technik’s customization capabilities, CSZ’s comprehensive portfolio of standard products, and Dynavac’s extensive space simulation and thin film expertise, Weiss Technik North America has the capacity to address our customers’ every demand, across all budget levels, with global services and support they can depend on.

Weiss Technik North America is a member of the Weiss Technik group of companies, a division of the Schunk Group with its headquarters in Heuchelheim, Germany. Weiss Technik has over 50 years of experience in the manufacture of environmental test chambers and employs 1,700 people in 22 group companies in 15 countries worldwide.

All equipment of Weiss Technik North America is manufactured in compliance with the appropriate military standards, ASTM specifications, or customer requirements. Its power panels are in compliance with UL508A First Edition dated April 25, 2001, NFPA79 requirements, and ETL labeled. Equipment shipping into Canada is certified to CAN/CSA C22.2 NO.14 and ETL labeled. Equipment shipping into the European markets, where applicable, has C.E. Declaration of Conformity certificates provided and is in compliance with European standards. When incorporated in equipment purchase specifications, our equipment is manufactured to conform to SEMI S2-0200, and SEMI S8-1000 guidelines.

Weiss Technik North America maintains a network of factory service centers in the US and Asia, and retains service contractors worldwide. Through these centers, Weiss Technik North America provides emergency service and repair, preventive maintenance contracts, spare and replacement parts, relocation services, and rebuilding or refurbishment of all makes of environmental test chambers. Weiss Technik North America is furthermore an ISO/IEC 17025-2005 Edition (A2LA) accredited calibration facility

Our Corporate Headquarters is located at 3881 N. Greenbrooke SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49512, USA, with additional location in Cincinnati, Ohio USA. These locations have both office and manufacturing space. Weiss Technik North America Grand Rapids is also located within minutes from the Gerald R. Ford International Airport.
